Synchro Aero 4E: the aerodynamic road shoe optimized for the experienced triathlete

The Synchro Aero 4E is designed for the athlete who prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency and foot stability above all else. While a single-strap shoe like our WorldCup is the undisputed leader for pure speed in transition, the Synchro Aero 4E is designed for “all-out” performance during the bike segment itself.

Combining a dual dial closure system with an aerodynamic cover featuring a medial zipper, this shoe offers the precise and secure fit of a high-end road shoe, with the aerodynamic drag reduction needed for draft-legal triathlons and time trials.

Engineering strategy: aerodynamic priority

1. Reducing aerodynamic drag through a medial zipper cover

In a sport where seconds are won over distances from 40 km to 180 km, turbulence caused by dials and components is critical. The Synchro Aero 4E features a smooth fabric cover that encloses the closure system. To further refine the profile, we moved the zipper to the medial (inside) side, away from the main airflow, ensuring a cleaner leading edge on the lateral side of the shoe.

2. Dual lacing system for maximum hold

For daily road training and high-power races, foot security is essential. The dual lacing system allows independent adjustment of tension on the forefoot and ankle. This provides a level of mechanical “hold” that single-strap shoes cannot match, preventing internal foot slippage during standing efforts on the pedals or high-cadence intervals.

3. The “triathlon-ready” road shoe

Although primarily a high-performance road shoe, it is not “exclusively road.” We integrated specific functional details to ensure it remains suitable for competitive triathlon:

Fly-Mount compatibility: integrated fabric loops allow the use of elastics to keep the shoes horizontal on the pedals.

Reinforced heel pull tab: a robust, oversized loop ensures a secure grip when slipping the shoe on quickly, a feature missing in 99% of aerodynamic road shoes.

4. 4E carbon frame: the foundation

Built on our proven flat-bottom 4E carbon sole, the Synchro Aero 4E offers a stable and ultra-stiff platform. The flat geometry increases pedal contact area, reducing “hot spots” and ensuring every watt of power is transferred directly to the drivetrain.
